MONNIG METEORITE GALLERY
Monnig Meteorite Gallery - Hold a piece of Mars in your hand
At the Monnig Meteorite Gallery, you can experience pieces of the Solar System up close
and explore the mysteries of meteorites! Meteorites are the oldest materials known —
older than any rock formed on Earth! Learn how to identify a meteorite, enjoy a hands-on
encounter with different types of meteorites, and create your own terrestrial impact
crater. For an "out-of-this-world" experience, bring your friends and family to get
acquainted with our spectacular visitors from space. For directions and opening hours,
please go to our visitor information page.
About the Gallery
To facilitate education in, and advance the current-state of knowledge of, the origins
and history of our Solar System through public outreach, research, and growth of the Collection.
The Monnig Meteorite Collection and Gallery also strongly believes in, and helps to
implement, the overall mission of TCU: to educate individuals to think and act as
ethical leaders and responsible citizens in the global community.
