Love Texas Art presents Out Of The Fire, a group exhibition celebrating the diversity of
approaches to the materiality of ceramics by women artists based in Texas. From utilitarian
objects to figurative vessels, to conceptual installation, Out Of The Fire considers women’s
role in laying bare the possibilities of ceramics in combining the traditional with modern
references. The show title is inspired by the moment of relief experienced after a ceramic
object is removed from heat intact after the lengthy, transformative and trepidatious
firing process.
Featured artists include: Eliza Au, Emily Bayless, Ariel Bowman, Daniela Maria Ferreira
Cabeza-Vanegas, Kendall Davis, Anastasia Gabriel, Earline Green, Jihye Han, Jessica Kreutter,
Sarah Levings, Stormie Parker, Naomi Peterson, Jessica Sanders, Tatara Siegel, Pam Stern,
Pamela Summers, and Rebekah Sweda. Out Of The Fire was curated by Ariel Davis.
