Love Texas Art - Out Of The Fire Ceramic Works By Texas Women
Exhibition on Display: February 4 - March 19, 2023 | Opening reception: Saturday, February 4, 2023 6-9pm
Love Texas Art presents Out Of The Fire, a group exhibition celebrating the diversity of
approaches to the materiality of ceramics by women based in Texas. From utilitarian
objects to figurative vessels, to conceptual installation, Out Of The Fire considers
women’s role in laying bare the possibilities of ceramics in combining the traditional
with modern references. The show title is inspired by the moment of relief experienced
after a ceramic object is removed from kiln intact after the lengthy, transformative and
trepidatious firing process.
Featured artists include: Eliza Au, Emily Bayless, Ariel Bowman, Daniela Maria Ferreira
Cabeza-Vanegas, Kendall Davis, Anastasia Gabriel, Earline Green, Jihye Han, Jessica
Kreutter, Sarah Levings, Stormie Parker, Naomi Peterson, Jessica Sanders, Tatara Siegel,
Pam Stern, Pamela Summers, and Rebekah Sweda. Out Of The Fire was curated by Ariel Davis.
Out Of The Fire will be on view at Love Texas Art in Sundance Square in Fort Worth,
Texas from February 4 – March 19, 2023. The opening reception will take place on
February 4, 2023 from 6-9pm.
