Boo at the Zoo, presented by Central Market and Wells Fargo, will skip the tricks and offer only treats throughout the Zoo for all guests to enjoy, including a live animal stage show at the Outdoor Learning Theater, a pumpkin patch, a Tot Spot, crafts and treat stations. Wild Encounters keeper chats and Boo-themed animal enrichment activities will take place at various exhibits in the Zoo.

A Candlelight Christmas in Ryan Place (CCRP), an annual fundraiser of Ryan Place, began as an expression of pride in the neighborhood by a generation of new homeowners moving back into the inner city. Historic preservation was a new, exciting idea in Fort Worth in the early 1980's, and the first Candlelight Tour roughly coincided with the first Designers Showhouse and other preservation efforts in the Stockyards and at Thistle Hill.

Van Cliburn's sensational victory at the first Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow in 1958 heralded a new confidence in the quality of American music-making, as well as a new era in cultural relations between East and West. The quadrennial Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, widely recognized as one of the world's most important, was organized by a group of music teachers and citizens from Fort Worth, Texas in 1962 to commemorate his historic achievement and is dedicated to the discovery of the world's finest pianists.
