ARTIST BIO
Michael moved to Fort Worth in 2011 to study classical drawing and painting techniques
at the Texas Academy of Figurative Art (TAFA). After graduating from TAFA in 2017, Michael
continued to advance his craft further by enrolling in the University of Dallas’s master’s
program. Michael will graduate with his MFA in 2022. In the midst of his busy schedule,
Michael taught the evening figure classes at TAFA from 2017 to 2020, and is currently an
adjunct art professor at the University of Dallas.
Audra began drawing and painting at a young age. After years of self study, Audra studied
oil painting under Mary Watkins in Austin, TX, and then continued her studies in Fort Worth
at TAFA. It was at TAFA where Audra and Michael met. Audra’s painting subjects are varied,
but her recent focus has been on portraits. She has over a decade’s experience teaching
art in both one-on-one and classroom settings.
Both Michael and Audra are active professionals with a passion for creating and instructing
realist art. Michael’s work has been exhibited nationally, often with the Oil Painters of
America. Audra has drawings and paintings in private collections in the US and internationally.
